About the Conference

CGSJ-IC 2025 seeks to advance the conversation around critical gender studies by integrating diverse perspectives from multiple disciplines that contribute to the singular cause of Gender Equality. The conference is dedicated to creating a platform where scholars can share insights, challenge existing paradigms, and inspire transformative change. Through collaborative dialogue and interdisciplinary exchange, we hope to generate new ideas that can be translated into actionable strategies for real-world impact.

Mission of the Conference

The mission of the 1st Critical Gender Studies Journal’s International Conference (CGSJ-IC 2025) is to foster a dynamic and inclusive platform for academic discourse and collaboration in the field of critical gender studies. The conference aims to:

  • Encourage the integration of various academic disciplines to enrich the understanding of gender and its intersections with other social categories such as race, class, sexuality, and ability.
  • Facilitate the presentation and discussion of cutting-edge research that challenges existing paradigms and contributes to the development of new theories and methodologies in gender studies.
  • Create a bilingual (English and Spanish) environment that promotes cultural exchange and understanding among participants from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Highlight the role of gender studies in addressing social inequalities and injustices and inspire participants to engage in activism and policy-making.
  • Provide opportunities for networking and collaborative partnerships among scholars.
  • The CGSJ-IC 2025 contributes to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5), Gender Equality, by promoting Gender Equality through education, addressing gender-based violence, fostering economic participation, and encouraging policy change.

Thus, the conference aims to significantly advance critical gender studies and inspire meaningful change in academic and societal contexts.
