General Issue | Rolling Submissions
The Critical Gender Studies Journal / Revista Crítica de Estudios de Género invites submissions for its upcoming general issue. We welcome original research articles, theoretical essays, creative interventions, and reviews that explore the multifaceted dimensions of gender and sexuality across diverse contexts and disciplines.
As an interdisciplinary—and antidisciplinary—platform, our journal is committed to challenging normative assumptions and advancing critical conversations around gender, sexuality, and intersecting identities such as race, class, ethnicity, nationality, religion, and disability. We seek contributions that interrogate power structures, amplify marginalized voices, and promote social justice through rigorous scholarship and engaged praxis.
Scope and Themes
We encourage submissions that:
- Examine how gender and sexuality are shaped by, and in turn shape, cultural, historical, political, and social forces.
- Engage with transnational, decolonial, and intersectional perspectives.
- Reflect on emerging trends, challenges, and transformations in Gender Studies.
- Employ applied or action research methodologies aimed at social change.
- Bridge theory and practice in innovative and accessible ways.

IMPORTANT Starting with this issue, we are upgrading our academic integrity and transparency policies by making our peer-review process more transparent and publicly available. Where appropriate, we will publish reviewer comments and author responses alongside the final published articles as interlinked Versions of Records. This initiative aims to promote the rigorous review process our manuscripts undergo. Authors must accept these new terms while submitting their manuscripts to the journal. |
